To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Piaget Altiplano collection, Piaget introduced the limited edition wristwatch, Piaget Altiplano Feather Marquetry G0A42060.
Piaget has obtained great achievement in the field of watchmaking and jewellery manufacturing, and it shines like a bright star in the night sky. Designers from Piaget designed a radiant feather dial to echo to Piaget’s splendor. Piaget chose to cooperate with Master Emilie Moutard-Martin, and this was not their first cooperation. Emilie Moutard-Martin entered into the feature marquetry for more than 13 years, and she has got many achievements. When it comes to feature marquetry, it is a Deco Art that to stick or knit feather on the surface of items. It originates from Ancient Art and Crafts in American region. Feather-made accessories were for religionary use in that era. The targe Emperor Aztec gave to Charles V is collected in Vienna Museum, whose dragon head was crafted through feather marquetry. Radiant feature dial symbolizes Piaget’s present splendor.
Radian Feather Marquetry Dial
The rough draft and the semi-finished dial was turned over to Emilie Moutard-Martin. After they discussed and communicated repeatedly, the final conclusion came out. They were determined to use feathers from ducks, cocks and peacocks to adorn the round dial. Emilie selected seriously color, texture and density of features. First, wash them in the soap water. Second, tidy them through steam. Then, cut them delicately. Finally, put them on the dial according to the design draft and stick them carefully. Every step requires accurate calculations. Every step represents Emilie’s skills. The final effect reflects extreme visual beauty.
18 K White Gold Case
After the feature marquetry dial was finished, it was returned to Piaget. Then, watch makers inlaid 78 pieces of round brilliant-cut diamonds into the white gold bezel weighting 0.71 carats. Luxurious diamonds shine on the white gold case, splendid and brilliant. Diamonds and white gold add splendor to the feather marquetry dial. The white gold crown engraved with “P” tells the brand image.
The entire case is finished with the design for the sealed back, and it is equipped with Piaget Cal.430P, a hand-wound ultra-slim mechanical movement at 2.1mm thick. Piaget Altiplano Feather Marquetry is limited to 30 pieces globally, whose sealed back is engraved with a serial number.
